“We participated in the Alev Schools New Year Festival for the second time…”

Acappella Grup 34 participated in the Traditional New Year Festival organised by Alev Private Schools with one concert. It was performed on Saturday 19th December 2009 under the conduction of Kevork Tavityan at the Ömerli Campus of Alev Private Schools. At the concert, the choir sang folk songs called Suda Balık Oynuyor, Turnalar, Ben Giderim Batuma, Laçin and also Çargah Oyun Havası from its new repertoire. Then Stille Nacht, O Tannenbaum and Deck the Hall were sung together with the little students of ALEV Schools. The joint choir conducted by Kevork Tavityan got a long applause from the audience. ALEV Private Schools donated the income of this festival in which our choir also took part to UNICEF and supported the “We Are Adding Nursery Schools” project.As part of this project carried out by UNICEF and Pre-School Education General Directorate, parcels of 1000-1200 m2 are being bought from the public domain in 14 cities that are emigrated to most and nursery schools with five big classrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, administration rooms, toilets and playgrounds in the garden and that 200 students can attend are being built.
